Digital Portfolio Project
This year, students will continue to build their online portfolio. The purpose of the Bigfork High School portfolio is to keep students' best work in one place, and to offer a site to showcase their work. In the past, students would receive their best writings in a folder their senior year, and nothing could really be done with these pieces. Now, we have students put all of their work over the course of their high school years in one location--and from all subject areas, not just English writing. This portfolio site can then be used when students go on to work or school. Pieces on their portfolio will include their activity accomplishments, excellent work they completed in class, work documents like a resume, and volunteer work hours. Students are encouraged to add work to their portfolios on their own, and teachers will also be working to provide students with times to do this. Students should be taking pictures of tangible products (such as in auto, culinary, art and wood-shop) so they can add them as images, and save their written work using their school Google Drive so they can add straight from their school files. Their senior year, students will move the ownership of this site to a private, personal one, and they can then utilize this work once they graduate from BHS.
